News for Kaanchie:Subhash Ghai made another announcement regarding his upcoming love story Kaanchi. He signed a 21 year old Bengali girl, Mishti, for the film. She will be playing the leading lady in the film, informs Ghai. Subhash Ghai has already signed Kartik Tiwari as the male lead in his upcoming epic love story Kaanchi.
Mishti was picked up by the Showman after screening and auditioning more than 240 girls for the role. "It is really a tough job to write a good script and getting a newcomer to play the title role instead of an established actor is tougher. It was my very intense struggle to find a Kaanchi. I screened more than 250 girls, but after auditioning Mishti, I knew in the very first shot that she was the Kaanchi I was looking for”, states the Showman. She will be the 11th new face that Mr. Ghai is launching in his career. She is under training at Whistling Woods and Mukta Arts.
The film is scheduled to go on floors on Feb 18, with a budget of approximately Rs. 35 crores. Music of the film is composed by Ismail Darbar and Salim-Sulaiman. The film revolves around an innocent girl from Uttarakhand whose father, an ex-army man, gets shot. The event turns her life upside down, and after a certain point she refuses to be the victim and stands up to fight her way out and emerges a winner.
